Surprise Home Projects...

Hello.  My goodness May came along and now is gone all too quickly.  We have taken our home off the market for the time being.  After interviewing numerous persons and having one brave enough to tell us a few changes we need to make, the surprise projects have begun.  Our plan is to complete all projects and list our home in time for late Summer Selling Season.  You have all been so patient and encouraging over the last seven months and I am very grateful.  Thank You.
This is our Great Room, another term for living room.  It is a large room.  When we bought this home 19 years ago this past weekend, everything was builder beige...except the blue floral carpet.  We had a designer/interior decorator help us to bring cozy to this room so many years ago.

Mr. C and a cabinet craftsman built this cherry entertainment center and it must stay with the house.  (Side note: I will never spend this kind of time and money on custom built-ins again!)

Now the very expensive threaded wallpaper must go.  It is too dark and dated.  Bye-bye.  My tears stayed silent while the trash bin was being filled.  I didn't even have the heart to try to salvage any for paper arts.  Mr. C reminds me to move ahead.

Testing color samples on the wall.  This color is "Whiskers" and we used it downstairs when we remodeled just over a year ago.  It blends well with the light tan in the hallway and dining room.  The ceiling is a soft taupe and also goes well.  Whew!  One less decision and area to change.

I admit the room is now bright and airy and ready for new homeowners.  Next week is a further change. Yes, it involves this room as well.  Can you guess?  The old window valence will not be going back up. I would like to have sheer light grey panels that hang from the window tops to the floor at both ends and the two window frames in the middle.  What do you suggest?  I have to keep reminding myself that none of this is for me and Mr. C...unless the house never sells and we stay here forever.  We are keeping that in mind as we hire contractors and make changes that we will be able to live with...just in case.
I shall welcome June and all it brings.  May is ending with a shot of rain.  I welcome the rain...but not with our projects right now.  Everyday is a challenge yet I am grateful for all we have and are able to do.  Nothing creative from me right now.  I am allowing my Muse to relax, rejoice and reenergize so that she will be ready when I can get back to sewing and creating.  Summer Blessings to all...

Sewing Card Holders...

This month of May is so busy.  Lots to do and very limited time to do it all.  I am posting this so I know I have done something with all those days and hours.
Beverlys is a craft and fabric store that I enjoy very much.  The closest one to me is in Rocklin and that is a 45 minute drive each way downhill and uphill.  I am on their mailing and email list.  I received an email a few weeks ago and it had a link to this fabric gift card holder.  It can also hold business or calling cards.  This is the link for instructions.  Thank you very much Beverlys.  I have made five here in this photo.  They are quick to sew and use very little fabric so perfect for scraps. As you can see, you can mix and match the fabrics if you like.  They are also very easy to mail and will fit nicely into a card.
Other than being busy inside and outside we have taken a couple of days to visit friends and enjoy time with them.  The boys spent Sunday at the British Car Show in Dixon.  We girls spent the day having High Tea at a lovely tea room.  No Photos!  I didn't have my camera and I have no smart phone with a camera.
This post is short yet I just couldn't let any more days pass by.  I so admire all of you who continue to blog and post daily or at least regularly.  I am my own excuse!!!  Summer is here in all its triple digit heat glory.  I really must get busy now.  I hope to post sooner.
May you each be spending glorious time in Creative Bliss...

A simple post of Gratitude and inspiration.  I received a large envelope in the mail recently. I wasn't expecting anything and had no idea what could be inside for me.  When I opened it I was blown away with surprise and JOY.  Miss Roni of Ink Stains blog sent me this beautiful plaque she created for me.  This could not be more timely for me as our living in limbo continues into the seventh month.

Roni is a wonderful and creative person and I adore what she creates. This photo does not do justice to this card.  There are two very sparkly "jewels" on the banner.  Funny thing happened that night after reading this card.  Those sparkly beautiful "jewels" were in my dream later that night and they had nothing to do with paper.  LOL  Thank you so very much Sweet Friend.  You really brightened my day and every day.
Our weather has been sunny and warmer than in past years.  The pollen is thick from all the rain allowing extra growing and blossoming of trees and flowers.  I welcome any rain that wants to grace us so it can wash away the thick blanket of yellow covering everything outdoors.  With all this nice sunny weather Mr. C and I have been working outdoors in the yards.  Lots of limbs and weeds to deal with.  We took a huge truckload to the local waste station.  We will have another huge truckload next week to dispose of.  Hopefully I will be planting some fresh new flowers in my empty pots next week.  After all we want to look like Disneyland around here.
Happy Month of May and so many events to enjoy.  Creative Bliss for each of you...<3
